School of Teacher Education (STE).  The School of Teacher Education invites applications for a tenure earning position in Foreign and Second Language Education.  For more information about the department, visit:



 The responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students, conducting appropriate scholarship leading to publication, acquiring external funds, and service to the department, university, and professional associations.



An earned doctorate in Second Language Education, Second Language Acquisition, Applied Linguistics or related field with emphasis in second language teaching is essential.  The successful candidate will also have a record of productivity and evidence of a scholarly agenda that is consistent with the mission of FSU and the College of Education.  In addition, the candidate should possess successful experiences working with school populations in the U.S., proficiency in a second language, and evidence of ability to collaborate with colleagues in the Modern Languages Department.  Other desired qualifications include: intermediate to advanced proficiency in Chinese or another LCTL, experience with online course delivery, supervision of student teachers, curriculum development, and an interest in securing external funding.



This is nine-month, tenure earning position at the Assistant Professor rank, with possible summer employment.  The starting date for this position is August 2014.  Salary is negotiable.
