Assistant Professor of Computer Science and

Associate/Full Professor of Computer Science

 

 

 

Positions:              Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking two tenure-track faculty members in Computer Science beginning with the Fall 2014 semester.  One will be at the assistant professor rank and the other will be at the associate or full professor rank.

                                   

Responsibilities:   Assistant Professor: The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science; engage in research and scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publication and acquisition of external funds; involve undergraduate and graduate students in research; and participate in professional, university, and community service.

                              Associate/Full Professor: The successful candidate is expected to teach primarily undergraduate courses in Computer Science; lead the assessment and reporting activities associated with ABET/CAC accreditation; engage in research and scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publication; involve students in research; and participate in professional, university, and community service activities.

                                   

Qualifications:       Assistant Professor: Earned doctorate in Computer Science or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or university; excellent oral and written communication skills; and ability to relate to students. A record of accomplishment in teaching and scholarship, and attracting external funding, consistent with the rank of assistant professor is also required. Finalists must have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching field.

                              Associate/Full Professor: In addition to the requirements given above, applicants must have a record of accomplishment consistent with the rank of associate or full professor.  Applicants must be qualified to serve as program head of an ABET/CAC accredited program.  The CS program is currently seeking ABET/CAC accreditation.
