Location: Clemson, South Carolina - Hardin Hall
Description
The Department of History at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track position in legal history from the nineteenth through the twenty-first century at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2024. The search is open to legal historians who focus on any geographical area. A J.D. is preferred but not required.
Clemson is an R-1 research institution and therefore applicants should have a strong record of scholarship or demonstrate promise of scholarship. Applicants moreover should be prepared to contribute to the History Department's new legal history emphasis area by teaching courses in legal history and advising undergraduate students interested in law-related fields. Applicants are also encouraged to demonstrate how their research and teaching interests fit into the department's new digital history Ph.D. program.
Qualifications
Ph.D. must be in-hand by August 1, 2024.
