Job Information

The Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems (EPLS) invites applications for a tenure-earning assistant/associate professor position within the Departments Psychological and Counseling Services (PCS) program.The faculty members primary contribution will be to the master’s/Ed.S. School Psychology program with a secondary affiliation to the American Psychological Association-accredited combined doctoral program in counseling psychology and school psychology. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with training and professional identification with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the professional specialty of School Psychology. The ideal candidate would serve as coordinator of the School Psychology program or eventually transition into this leadership role. The faculty member will also have an opportunity to also contribute to the CACREP-accredited programs in Mental Health Counseling and Career Counseling. The position will involve the following: (a) research/scholarship in any substantive are a related to school psychology, (b) graduate teaching in the broad areas of school psychology, (c) supervision of master’s and doctoral students in practicum settings, (d) serving on graduate student supervisory committees, (e) serving on program, departmental, and college committees, and (f) program/curriculum development and evaluation of the master’s/Ed.S. School Psychology program.



Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to research/scholarship, teaching, supervision, program development, the integration of science and practice, and serving as a professional role model. We prefer candidates who have graduated from an APA- and NASP-accredited program with a Ph.D. in school psychology. Current licensure as a psychologist or license-eligibility as a psychologist in Florida is strongly desired. Candidates knowledgeable about School Psychology, NASP-accreditation operating procedures, and national training issues in professional school psychology are strongly encouraged to apply. We encourage candidates with interest in serving in a leadership role as coordinator of a School Psychology program.



This is a nine-month, tenure earning position at the assistant/associate professor rank, with possible summer employment. The candidate will have opportunities to assume an immediate or future leadership role as coordinator of the school psychology program and become an active core faculty member in the combined counseling psychology and school psychology doctoral program, one of only eight APA-accredited combined programs in the country. The anticipated start date for this position is the beginning of fall semester, 2014.
