Job Summary

The Radiation Therapy program is one of five concentrations leading to the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences and one of nine accredited clinical programs in the Department of Clinical Sciences. As part of a large department, the Radiation Therapy program supports the mission of the Waters College to prepare future health professionals through academic excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration while advancing knowledge through scholarship and serving culturally diverse communities.

Reporting to the department chair, the Program Coordinator duties include writing program assessment and accreditation reports, overseeing admission to the program and working in collaboration with the program clinical coordinator to ensure effective clinical education. Classroom, online, and laboratory teaching of radiation therapy content is required. Additional courses related to other radiologic science disciplines or other healthcare topics may also be assigned to meet student needs. Service requirements include committee assignments and presence at recruiting activities on and off campus. Ongoing professional development is also required. The position is a fiscal year (12 month), open rank appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates who do not hold a doctoral degree will be appointed as a non-tenure track lecturer.

Required Qualifications

Earned master's degree by July 1, 2024

Minimum of three years of clinical experience in radiation therapy

Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and registration in Radiation Therapy

Minimum of two years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited radiation therapy program

Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives

Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development

For tenure track positions, a demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline is required

Minimum of a doctoral degree and 1 year of full-time college/university teaching experience is required for the rank of tenure-track assistant professor.

Minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the assistant professor level is required for the rank of tenure-track associate professor, along with a strong record of research and service with publications and presentations in professional venues.

Minimum of 5 years full-time college/university teaching experience at the associate professor level is required for the rank of tenured professor, along with a strong record of research and service with substantial publications and presentations in professional venues.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a program director or clinical coordinator in a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program.

Experience teaching dosimetry and radiation therapy physics.

Proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration and academic advising.

Proficiency with design and instruction for online courses.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience.

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
