Eastern Kentucky University seeks a dynamic leader for Dean, College of Business and Technology. This position provides leadership and direction across all academic, research, and service domains of the College, and monitors quality through regular assessment and updating of programs and services. The successful candidate will serve as the primary representative and advocate for the College. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: collaborative leadership in strategic planning; budget development and allocation of funds; oversight of academic policy; assurance of quality and accreditation; and curriculum and program development. The Dean regularly represents the College on administrative policy-making bodies and serves as the primary liaison to other colleges and units within the university. The Dean also promotes diversity in the College's student body, faculty, and classified staff. Requirements include an earned doctorate from a regionally or internationally accredited institution, in a discipline housed within the College. The successful candidate must have accomplishments commensurate with a tenured faculty position at the rank of Professor (highest faculty rank at EKU), five (5) years of university teaching experience, and five (5) additional years of administrative experience, including substantial personnel and budgeting responsibility. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills are also necessary, as well as a collegial and professional manner. Knowledge of AACSB accreditation standards and the ability to work with other College of Business & Technology standard setting bodies is strongly desired. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building and sustaining constituency support with community leaders, alumni, and other external stakeholders. In addition, because prominent fund-raising activities are expected of the new Dean, a history of development-related experience is essential.
