Job Description: 
Under general supervision counsels and confers with prospective transfer students interested in enrolling at Arizona State University; provides program procedures, policies, and problem resolution in accordance with established university enrollment goals for transfer students.  Reports to the Assistant Director, Transfer Admissions.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
•Implement strategies to market, counsel and enroll new transfer students from a targeted market/geographic region. 

•Utilizes PeopleSoft and Recruitment Plus information systems in support of new student enrollment goals for the transfer population. Monitors the effectiveness of transfer enrollment strategies and action items. 

•Acts as liaison and develops strong relationships with counselors, prospective students and their family members in assigned markets through a variety of electronic media and phone contact. 

•Represents, implements, maintains and executes transfer admission visits to appropriate markets/geographic regions (i.e., community colleges; schools, clubs, organizations). 

•Conducts analysis of enrollment data pertaining to assigned campus sites (and colleges and programs represented at those campus sites) to ensure enrollment objectives are met. 

•Facilitates and conducts appropriate workshops, classroom presentations, transfer days, and transfer ready workshops as determined by supervisor to all prospective transfer students. 

•Counsels and confers with students interpreting and providing program procedures, policies, goals and objectives. 

•Upon direction, coordinates the activities and functions associated with the marketing and enrollment of transfer students within the office of undergraduate admissions, for all entry terms. 

•Assists with in-office admissions appointments and University Information Sessions. 

•Maintains student records on database; prepares, monitors and provides reports and a contact point for prospective student information. 

•Executes various phone and written correspondence to all transfer students as assigned to meet university enrollment goals. 

•Documents students' visits and maintains appropriate online files; follows up on progress through personal contact and correspondence. 

•Provides assistance and advice regarding all prospective students to ensure seamless transition to university. 

•Creates and maintains relationships between community colleges and ASU by offering various pre-enrollment services and related functions. 

•Work with freshmen and international admissions staff to ensure synergies within ASU undergraduate admissions. 

•Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions designated by supervisor. 

•Provides assistance with various student visit programs and events including on and off campus functions. 

•Ensures coordination of scheduling to maximize student service to meet university enrollment goals. 

•Collaborates and works with fellow admissions counselors, supervisor, and enrollment management leadership to achieve university enrollment objectives for transfer students. 

•Participate in other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and three years of related experience; OR, Seven years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

•Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures pertaining to transfer and undergraduate admissions.

•Knowledge of basic project management and organizational practices.

•Knowledge of ASU academic requirements and admission policies.

•Knowledge of functionality of higher education student information systems

•Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of admissions, marketing and enrollment

•Skill in performing, organizing, and prioritizing work activities

•Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

•Skill in both verbal and written communication.

•Skill in the use of personal computers and related software including Microsoft Office.

•Ability to produce reports of the analysis and evaluation of activities.

•Ability to work in an environment subject to regular interruptions, multi-tasking and re-prioritizing potentially conflicting assignments

•Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
 
Essential Functions
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and travel moderate distances to perform work (25%) Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (35%) Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts; Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions; Frequent travel, both in state and out of state, involving operation of a motor vehicle; Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.  This position receives regular review of objectives. This position does not provide direct supervision of staff.
