Tenured Associate/Full Professor Position in Computer Systems/Architecture

The University of Delaware, located between Washington, DC and New York City, invites applications for a tenured associate/full professor position, primarily in the domain of Computer Systems/Architecture. Applications from exceptional candidates in all areas are encouraged as well. Over the past five years, the Department of Computer and Information Sciences has witnessed a 40% growth in its faculty. Among our esteemed faculty members, 45% have been honored as NSF CAREER awardees. Furthermore, we proudly maintain a diverse academic environment, with 29% of our faculty being female. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field. We seek innovative, ambitious individuals who have demonstrated excellence in research and are becoming leaders in their field, while also engaging in high-quality teaching and mentoring of diverse students.

The Department is vibrant and growing, currently comprising 25 tenure-track, 8 teaching, and 5 research faculty members. We have a community of about 115 Ph.D. students, 70 Masters students, and 613 undergraduate students. Our Department has substantial external funding, e.g., the total R&D expenditure is $5M (2023), including grants from NSF, NIH, DOE, Air Force, Army, Navy, and various industries.

New faculty will have the opportunity to participate in various university initiatives, including the Data Science Institute (dsi.udel.edu), Cybersecurity Initiative (csi.udel.edu), the AI Center of Excellence (https://sites.udel.edu/ai/), UD Mobility Initiative (http://udmobility.org), and those supported by the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (www.dbi.udel.edu), Center for Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (bioinformatics.udel.edu), Institute for Financial Services Analytics (www.lerner.udel.edu/centers/ifsa), Army CECOM Research Development and Engineering Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground (www.cerdec.army.mil), and Health Sciences at the STAR campus (chs.udel.edu/star/).
