The School of Physical Education and Tourism Management at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) seeks an innovative and committed tenure track faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and to conduct research in the Department of Kinesiology.  IUPUI is Indianas premier urban public research university, home to more than 30,000 students within 22 schools and colleges.  IUPUIs innovative practices with respect to community engagement, health and life science focus and student support have earned national recognition.  IUPUIs location in the center of Indianapolis affords access to numerous community organizations and amateur/professional sports organizations such as the ACSM, NCAA and others.

 

The Department of Kinesiology is looking for candidates with research and teaching experience within one of the following three themes:

        Exercise epidemiology/Statistics/Physical Activity

        Wellness & Health Promotion/Workplace Wellness/Physical Activity Adherence/Behavior Changes

        Pediatric Exercise Physiologist/Youth Fitness/Pediatric obesity

 

The person selected will be responsible for the following:

  1. Teaching 2 courses per semester in an area of expertise
  2. Develop and maintain an externally funded research program
  3. Build relationships with other undergraduate and graduate programs on-campus to take advantage of the unique synergies that exist at IUPUI around a focus on life sciences and health engagement.
  4. Student advising and professional service
