Description

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time exempt AEGD Clinical Director on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position is responsible for for all clinical AEGD patient care, clinical teaching, and mentoring of AEGD residents to ensure attainment of postdoctoral
clinical competency.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and manage AEGD faculty in the program as to educational goals, experiences, expected resident progress, and competencies.
  • Manage residents as they develop and work through patient treatment plans, achieve educational goals, and attain competency.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of accreditation.
  • Conduct daily/weekly meetings with students, faculty, and staff to review issues/plans/events and student achievement.
  • Work with staff and faculty to train adjunct faculty to achieve clinical calibration.
  • Complete administrative reports as needed.
  • Track resident clinical progress and calibration with the Associate Dean on deficiencies on a periodic basis.
  • Perform dental procedures on patients as needed (i.e. teaching case).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • DDS or DMD degree required.
  • At least 5 years experience in a dental teaching environment.
  • At least 10 years in private practice or other facility where advanced general dentistry techniques were performed.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-directed and take the initiative.
  • Must be highly skilled in general dentistry and advanced restorative techniques.

Preferred
Doctorate or better in Dental Medicine, DMD.

Doctorate or better in Dental Surgery, DDS.

Experience
Required 10 years: Experience in a private practice or general dentistry facility.

5 years: Experience in a dental teaching environment.
