The School of Art at the University of Houston is seeking applicants for a position in the Painting Area beginning Fall 2014.
We are looking for an artist/teacher who has a dedicated commitment to painting and an active engagement with contemporary issues and discourse. The successful candidate should have a strong exhibition record with attendant critical attention, and an outstanding record as a professional and a teacher in the field of contemporary art. A national reputation for excellence is required.
Candidates must have a terminal degree, demonstrated teaching experience at the university level, and have a record of national and international exhibitions sufficient to warrant tenure. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
