Assistant Professor - Philosophy and Religion

Description

The Department of Philosophy and Religion is seeking to hire an assistant professor, tenure track, who specializes in philosophy of law, with an August 15, 2024 start date.

The successful candidate will have a philosophical research program and promise that corresponds with Clemson University's Carnegie R1 designation. The department seeks candidates with broad philosophical interests who can teach across, and contribute to expanding, the offerings of our undergraduate program. The typical course load is 2/2.

AOS: Philosophy of law, broadly construed.

AOS Categories: Philosophy of law

AOC: Open. The department seeks candidates with broad philosophical training as well as skill and interest in teaching across, and contributing to expanding, the offerings of our undergraduate program. The department has teaching interests in these areas: the history of philosophy, continental philosophy, aesthetics, logic and philosophy of language, metaphysics, and epistemology.

AOC Categories: The history of philosophy (ancient, early modern, and 19th century), continental philosophy, aesthetics, logic and philosophy of language, metaphysics, and epistemology.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy in hand by August 15, 2024, be able to supply evidence of effective teaching and a solid research program.
