Description

The Mason Lab in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work on elucidating the mechanism of DNA repair. Specifically, we are seeking to understand how DNA repair proteins function to protect genome integrity during replication stress. The position is for at least two years with a potential for renewal for a third year.

About the Mason Lab:

The Mason lab uses a combination of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry-based approaches to understand molecular mechanisms of DNA repair. Successful applicants will participate in NIH- and American Cancer Society-funded projects.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field; peer-reviewed publications; and motivation to progress the specified research. Preference will be given to individuals with experience with fluorescence microscopy, mammalian cell culture, and/or CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing. Strong candidates will demonstrate evidence of independence, have effective oral and written communication skills, and possess the ability to collaborate and mentor individuals at diverse stages of their careers including undergraduate and graduate students.
