Job Summary

The Center for Campus Wellness (CCW) is a confidential and comprehensive wellness office that provides wellness education, trainings and workshops; victim-survivor advocacy services and support; safer sex services for students; collegiate recovery program, wellness coaching; and student involvement opportunities.

CCW seeks a Content Specialist to join our team who will assist with developing a content strategy, create content (digital, print, video, etc), and copy writing to help promote our services and programs and increase brand awareness. This person must be committed to taking a comprehensive, wellness-focused, and trauma-informed approach. This position will ensure that relevant communications and marketing messages are created using emerging best practice, relevant marketing strategies, and student-centered verbiage. Creativity, attention to detail, flexibility, and strong storytelling skills are essential. Strong research skills to identify emerging trends and content that will resonate with a college campus audience will be required.

The CCW team is committed to taking a comprehensive and holistic approach to wellness promotion at the University of Utah. We actively addresses collegiate wellness topics including but not limited to relationship and sexual violence, sexual wellness, mental wellness, alcohol and drug harm reduction, and more, using a primary and secondary prevention focus.

Responsibilities
  1. Create content and copy for print and digital marketing and communication campaigns including social media, newsletters, print advertising, event promotion, etc.
  2. Assist in developing communication campaigns to advertise programs and services, share resources, create brand awareness, and market events.
  3. Serve as liaison between program leads and staff coordinator to finalize content and other assets for marketing and communication use.
  4. Attend CCW events and meetings as necessary for content creation goals.
  5. Research and recommend marketing strategies and tools to ensure the success of social media and other communication platforms.
  6. Assist in identifying target audiences and appropriate marketing and communication mediums to share information and content.
  7. Participate in mandatory training and continuing education
  8. Understand and comply with confidentiality related policy and procedure (i.e., Utah Confidential Communications Act, FERPA)
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in Graphic Art, or related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated knowledge of printing methods and desktop publishing; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.
