Minimum Qualifications
- Near-native or native proficiency in Spanish.
- M.A. in Spanish.
- Expertise in teaching first- and second-year Spanish courses.
Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required)
- Familiarity with ACTFL proficiency guidelines.
- Experience in world language assessment.
- Ability to teach beginning and intermediate courses in a hybrid or online format.

Description of the Department or Unit
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, in consonance with the University’s mission, offers a variety of courses that enhance students’ understanding and appreciation of other cultures and languages as well as their own. In addition to the broad knowledge base acquired through these courses, students will understand that language and culture are inseparable. Upon fulfilling the Department’s requirements for undergraduate or graduate programs, students will be adequately prepared for lifelong learning in a multicultural world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach first- and second-year courses in the Spanish program (anticipated course load 4/4).
- Contribute to service activities in the department.
