LSU Eunice is hiring a full time, 1year/12 month appointment, EMS Program Coordinator & Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Science and Business Technology (grant funded for the first year; contract extensions possible).  The position's primary responsibility is to coordinate all education and training for initial EMS certification; including EMR and EMT.  Provide guidance and vision to develop the EMS program for future inclusion of a Paramedic program.  Serve as the Lead Instructor of all EMS Program courses and coordinate/supervise clinical preceptors.  Familiar with the NFA FESHE initiative for Fire and EMS; Preference will be given to those applicants that are multi-disciplined in safety, fire science, and/or allied health fields.


Requirements:  Associate degree minimum or bachelors degree for instructor rank; Masters degree or higher for

tenure track/Asst. Professor rank; in EMS, fire & emergency services, an allied health discipline, education, or related field; EMT certification issued by NREMT and/or the State of Louisiana; Paramedic strongly preferred; minimum of 3 years of field experience; Louisiana EMS instructor certified within first year; Prior experience coordinating and teaching EMS courses, preferably in a community college setting; Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and evaluation instruments that support stated objectives; Extensive experience with National Registry certification management and data reporting; Knowledge with CoAEMSP and SACSCOC accreditation standards; experience inaccreditation process preferred; ALCS and other advanced instructor certifications preferred; Prior experience in a college environment or regional training program preferred; Experience developing and teaching online is preferred.  Ability to lift or move equipment (up to 60 pounds); Possess valid drivers license.  Some local and nationwide travel may be required.

Able to:  Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline educational processes, and works to provide quality education; Assist in the revision and development of course outlines, syllabi, curriculum plans and other instructional documentation required to meet program objectives; Serve as educational advisor to students, as formally required and as otherwise requested or needed by individual students; Participate in registration activities, as assigned, and assist in the recruitment of students and in the placement of graduates; Further develop and grow the EMS programs; Develop and monitor the administration of program quality assurance policies and procedures;  Coordinate educational program outcomes and performance evaluation based on established institutional critical success factors; Coordinate student performance standards; Fulfill committee assignments and other special appointments within the educational community as well as the community at large, and otherwise give appropriate support to institutional endeavors.


Salary:  Based on qualification and experience.
