Assistant Professor of French & Arabic: Loyola University Maryland is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of French & Arabic. This full-time entry-level position will provide tenure-track coverage in the area of Francophone North African literatures. This faculty member will ordinarily teach 6 courses per year (3 each semester); these courses will include those in his/her field of research as well as elementary and intermediate courses in French and Arabic. This person will conduct successful and productive research in his/her field; actively participate in service at the departmental, college and university levels, which includes advising majors and minors in French, co-coordinating elementary and intermediate levels of Arabic and organizing French and Arabic sections' activities and events; and support the Jesuit Mission of the University. Experience in college-level French/Arab-language instruction a must. Native or near-native fluency in French and in Arabic is required. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the Fall of 2013. Ph.D. in French or Arabic required, in hand by June 1, 2013.
