Social Sciences: The Department of Social Sciences invites applications for the Associate Professor and holder of the Joe and Teresa Long Endowed Chair in the Social Sciences. The holder of the Joe and Teresa Long Endowed Chair will have an earned Ph.D. in political science or history with a record of teaching and research at the associate professorship level. All areas of study will be considered, but the Department has special needs in Area Studies, (such as Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, or the Developing World), economic/social history, and agriculture studies. Responsibilities include teaching two courses each long semester, conducting research for publication, and offer at least one public presentation each semester, and working with other faculty to invite regional, national, and international scholars to participate in programs related to the chair holder's expertise, as well as other duties as may be assigned. Tenure, salary and travel expense account will be dependent on qualifications and experience. Required Education/Experience: Earned Ph.D. in political Science or history at the time of employment, with a record of teaching and research at the associate or full professor level. Preferred Education/ Experience: All areas of study will be considered, but the Department has special needs in Area Studies, (such as Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, or developing World), economic/social history, and agriculture studies.
