SharePoint Engineer

Information Technology, Enterprise Technical Infrastructure seeks to fill two positions of a SharePoint Engineers to assist in the integration and deployment of SharePoint 2010 to support the universities central and academic computing infrastructure.  The position will work with customers to detail and perform design for the technical implementation of the clients solutions. This includes the creation of technical design documentation and integration plans.   This position will also review existing architecture and suggest re-factoring for performance, robustness and re-usability.   The candidate will be expected to implement and manage enterprise solutions for specific business needs that provide frameworks, interfaces and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.  Candidate will focus on managing, configuring, tuning, maintaining and monitoring the IT SharePoint application environments Candidates will provide second and third tier technical support and provide on-call support as required during non-standard hours.

 

Qualified candidates must have a bachelors degree in an IT related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.  The candidate must have three plus years of Windows server administration experience. The candidate must have at least two years of experience with Windows server software, AD, and other Microsoft platforms, along with at least two years of SharePoint administration or development.  The person should have at least one year of managing SharePoint projects and experience with MS-SQL.   The person must have experience generating technical documentation along with a strong familiarity with SharePoint InfoPath forms generation and SharePoint workflow capabilities. Maintaining security and permissions to control access and other related environments is a requirement.

 

The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communications skills; the ability to work both independently and in a team environment; and be a flexible, highly motivated, and energetic person. Excellent benefits package offered.  The candidate should have excellent troubleshooting skills and a working knowledge of network essentials.   A thorough understanding of LAN infrastructure protocols such as DHCP, DNS TCP/IP and the ability to Script using powershell is a plus.   It is a plus if the candidate has experience setting up and configuring SharePoint Services and experience working with SharePoint 2010's authentication model and permission model.   It is a of added benefit if the candidate has experience with LDAP, Active Directory and DNS, and converting and customizing using web parts, layouts, and templates.    The person should be able to provide technical support and ad-hoc training to SharePoint end users and have technical creativity along with a solid foundation in SharePoint Design
