Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field.  He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.

Under general supervision, this individual will serve as the primary instructor and will prepare and teach Human Resources Development (HRD) courses to equip students with the employability skills needed to obtain and/or retain employment and be more successful in the workplace.

Education Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Communications or related fields from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.

Education Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Education, Business, Communications or related fields from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Certified Working Smart Curriculum Instructor.

Experience Required:
  • Teaching and/or industry training experience in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars. 

Experience Preferred:
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
  • Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Experience teaching in a jail, detention facility, or prison setting.
  • Experience teaching in Canvas learning management system.
