REPSONSIBILITIES: Claflin University seeks to hire an associate professor or professor to chair the Department of Philosophy and Religion beginning August 2012. Responsibilities will include: supervising the activities of the department, evaluating faculty, managing departmental budget, teaching religion and philosophy and general education courses, academic advising, committee work, community service, grant writing, and research.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess experience in college level teaching and advising. The candidate must have earned either the Master of Divinity degree or The Master of Theological Studies along with the Ph.D or Th.D. in Religious and Theological Studies from an accredited institution. Candidates with experience in the United Methodist Church are preferable.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
