Job Description Summary
The Senior Project Manager will report to the Vice Dean and Director of Information and Management Systems and will be responsible for managing multiple projects across the office of undergraduate admissions. This role will work in close concert with the Operations Team and specifically the Sr. Business Analyst. Responsibilities include project plan development, project monitoring, task assignment/tracking, coordination of resources, scheduling meetings, and facilitating clear and consistent communication among team members and any campus partners.

This role will also be responsible for the review of projects and initiatives to determine areas of improvement via After Action Reviews, focus groups, and surveys. Projects include but are not limited to: major events (e.g. Admitted Student Programs), technical projects, initiation of policies/procedures and governance structures.

The results of these reviews will allow the opportunity for directed focus through strengthening future iterations of our projects and initiatives as a way of continuous improvement. Aligning with our office's values, the progress and changes implemented across projects will be communicated with collective care and meaningful clarity by thoughtfully seeking input and communicating changes in ways that effectively advance our office's mission and vision.

The Senior Project Manager will also serve in a consultative capacity for projects while supporting the adoption and utilization of project management tools. This role also monitors and controls project budgets in conjunction with the Director of Finance and the finance team.

Job Description

Duties:
  • Develop and Manage Projects for the office.
  • Ensure staff are informed and engaged across the office as projects are proposed, planned and executed. Additionally, engage partners on and off campus on the details of projects/initiatives being run by the office.
  • In conjunction with counterparts in the office, develop, use and enforce clear methodologies for project management and ensure those are
    followed for all projects.
  • Consult with other staff around smaller projects and provide training and guidance in this regard.
  • Create regular reports on project statuses, report out of meetings/deliverable and ensure all those involved with the project are apprised of these.
  • Conduct full reviews of all projects and initiatives that involve stakeholders, highlight recommended changes or improvements, and share with stakeholders and all staff.
  • Manage project budgets and engage with the Finance group on budgeting, annual projections and 5 year projections.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with project management and a proven track record of successfully executed projects is required. Also required is experience using general office projects (e.g. Excel), and experience in cost tracking and budget management.

Proven ability to work and manage teams, engage staff, and manage timelines. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of, or direct experience using, Teamwork or other project management tools (SharePoint, Microsoft O365, Slate CRM) is highly desirable. Experience in admissions or higher education is also desirable.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
