Position Summary

The Confidential Office Support will assist the Senior Risk Analyst with processing the university's California Public Records Act requests and provides support for Risk Management programs. Duties include:
  • Communication with applicable departments
  • Tracking and logging the status of requests and deadlines
  • Initial review of responsive documents
  • Removal and redaction of confidential and exempt information
  • Communication with requester
  • Processing of payments
  • Assist in processing insurance paperwork
  • Reporting status to Senior Risk Analyst

  • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

    Department Summary

    The Division of Business and Financial Affairs is responsible for ensuring a safe, productive campus environment while providing the highest quality service in support of academic excellence through thoughtful stewardship of financial, technological, infrastructure and human resources at San Diego State University.

    The office of the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs houses all the functions of the Chief Financial Officer for San Diego State University. In this role the office provides all financial and business services for the university through Business Operations, Financial Operations, Administration, and Real Estate, Planning, and Development which employees more than 475 employees and directly controls a divisional budget of more than $90 million. In addition, the office provides financial oversight to auxiliary organizations and other entities.

    Key Qualifications
    To enter this classification at position skill level I, the incumbent must have a basic foundation of knowledge of the principles of organization, administration and management; and the ability to analyze and find solutions to problems, work independently, communicate effectively, and write clear and concise reports. Some positions may require a basic knowledge of research techniques and statistical methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree or professional training program specific to the position (e.g. Certified Public Accountant) and directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Two years of experience performing the full range of administrative duties preferred
  • Proficient skills with extensive office and university-specific software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google

  • Compensation and Benefits

    Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,750 per month.

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,224 - $5,008 per month.
