United International College (UIC), located in Zhuhai and founded jointly by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University, is the first full-scale collaboration between academic institutions from both mainland China and Hong Kong. Based on a holistic development approach, UIC aims to produce graduates with an international perspective, who are fluent in both English and Chinese, and who have knowledge and experience of China, Hong Kong and the world at large.


UIC started operation in October 2005 and offers undergraduate courses in three academic divisions: Business & Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science & Technology. The College offers subjects in liberal studies for all students and the medium of instruction is English. The Division of Businsess and Mangement now invites applications for the following positions which are expected to be filled in September 2012.


1. Professor/Associate Prof./Assistant Prof. in Accounting(UIC120305/12-13)

Candidates with teaching interest in the following subjects: Auditing, Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Accounting Information Systems, Cost and Management Accounting, Hong Kong Taxation, PRC Accounting and Taxation, Principle of Law, Company Law, Corporate Governance.


2. Professor/Associate Prof./Assistant Prof. in Finance and Financial Services(UIC1120306/12-13)

Candidates with teaching interest in the following subjects: Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Investment Analysis, Multinational Finance, Financial Risk Management, Financial Forecasting, Financial Mathematics, Introduction to Future and Options, Money and Banking, Investment Management, Fixed Income Securities.


3. Professor/Associate Prof./Assistant Prof. in Economics(UIC120307/12-13)

Candidates with teaching interest in the following subjects: Principles of Macroeconomics, Principle of Microeconomics, Applied Econometrics, Asia-Pacific Economics, International Economics, Economics and Business Forecasting, Foundation of Chinese Economy.


4. Professor/Associate Prof./Assistant Prof. in Business Studies and Management(UIC120308/12-13)

Candidates with teaching interest in the following subjects: Introduction to Business, Business Communication, Industrial Organization, Organizational Behavior, Applied Ethics, Strategic Management, Human Resources Management, Marketing.


5. Professor/Associate Prof./ Assistant Prof. in Cultural Industries Management(UIC120309/12-13)

Candidates with teaching interest in the following subjects: Introduction to Cultural Industries in Chinese Cities, Cultural Industries Management, Cultural Economy and Cultural Development, Cultural Policy and Decision, International Cultural Trade, Basic Studies in Spatial Design, Principles of Exhibition Design, Present State of Arts, Concepts in Contemporary Arts, Artistic Creativity and Aesthetics, International Advertising.


All applicants to the above posts should hold a PhD degree or a Master degree with extensive working experience in a related discipline and should be committed to excellence in teaching and undergraduate education. Research interests and experience are desirable.


Appointment Terms

Appointment to these positions will initially be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical insurance and/or housing allowance subjected to different level of positions. Re-appointment after the first contract is subject to mutual agreement.
