The German University in Cairo invites applications for the following vacancy to be filled by Winter 2012 / 2013:

The German University in Cairo is looking for highly able and motivated applicants wishing to join the Mechatronics department. Successful candidates will be responsible for fundamental education of the behavior of solid bodies subjected to various types of loading, concepts of stress and strain in elastic (and plastic) regions, superposition of elementary loadings, energy methods. A special focus is on safety assessments based on hypotheses in relation with the material characteristics and the corresponding safety factors. Finite Element Method (FEM) formulation, linear analysis in solids and structural mechanics. FEM in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Advanced graduate courses in solid mechanics should be expected. Supervising and leading research activities in this field are very important. Practical and industrial experience will be appreciated and evaluated
