Position Summary
Provides the learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The faculty member's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree with a major or minor in English, literature, creative writing or in a related field such as education, reading, writing, linguistics, or language arts; or Masters Degree in English, literature, creative writing or in a related field such as education, reading, writing, linguistics, or language arts; or Bachelors degree with related teaching or training experience in one or more of the above mentioned fields.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in English or reading.
Two years of full-time community college teaching experience or four years of part-time community college teaching experience.
Completion of graduate level developmental education coursework.

Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time position with a 9 or 10.5-month obligation starting September 2012 (Faculty returns August 2012.)
