Job Description: SUMMARY OF POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Assistant Director for Employer Relations serves as the supervisor for the Employer Development staff within the Career Resource Center's (CRC) Employer Relations Group. The incumbent is primarily responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive employer development plan for the Career Resource Center. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing employer educational programs and diversity recruitment initiatives to support employment connections and student career development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB AND THE PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT ON EACH FUNCTION 1. Responsible for developing, implementing and assessing a comprehensive global employer development plan. Develops, fosters, and maintains relationships with employers for the benefit of studentscareer development and employment opportunities. Conducts consultation to include local, regional, national and international employers to build and maintain relations to increase employment connections as well as to further expand experiential learning and full-time job opportunities for UF students. (30%) 2. Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to three full-time professional staff members, as well as student assistants and/or graduate students. (25%) 3. Serves as the liaison to one or more colleges within the University of Florida, focusing on career coaching and employer development and coordination. Delivers outreach presentations to classes and student organizations within that/those colleges. Provides career and job search coaching to students including, but not limited to, preparing for career fairs, conducting internship and job search, the internet job search and other topics as requested by student groups and/or faculty. (20%) 4. Oversees the centeremployer education programs and diversity recruitment initiatives. Coordinates and conducts workshops and trainings for our employer partners supporting recruitment practices, changes in employment law, and industry trends. Provides diversity recruitment resources and connections to support UF students, inclusive to domestic and international students for the career center. (10%) 5. Oversees assessments, data tracking and analysis relative to employer outreach and employment related activities for students and employers. (5%) 6. Develops and manages the Employer Development budget. (5%) 7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Director for Employer Relations or higher authority. (5%)
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications Masterdegree in appreciate area of interest and 3 years of previous experience working in career services, employer relations and\\:or related field highly desirable. Position requires attention to detail and the ability to create strong relationships in a team environment with university administrators, faculty, students, and employers interested or involved in CRC activities and programs. Requires strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and knowledge of current job market trends. Good presentation, research and analysis skills are essential to effectively conduct outreach and assist with assessment reporting. Knowledge of budgets and career coaching\\:advising is highly desired. In addition, the following attributes are vital to the successful execution of the duties of this position: demonstrated organizational skills, supervisory experience, the capacity to accept multi-tasks and experience in public relations, marketing, sales, development and\\:or recruitment. A working knowledge of computers and database management and tracking are essential to this unique position. This position requires experience working with college students, coupled with facilitative and interpersonal skills in dealing with a diverse audience of students, faculty, alumni, and employers.
