This is a 12-month regular classified staff position reporting to the Director of Maryland English Institute.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the IEP; oversee test development and language testing carried out by MEI for the IEP and for the wider University; oversee MEIs two computer labs; occasional teaching in program; other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in TESOL or applied linguistics; five years experience in a combination of teaching and administration at a US-based university Intensive English Program (IEP); evidence of expertise in English language testing and assessment; demonstrated skill in program administration; evidence of ongoing professional development activities; native or near-native proficiency in English.
In addition to the minimums, the preferred qualifications include: advanced proficiency in at least one other language besides English; demonstrated expertise in using technology in teaching and learning; significant overseas living/work experience. Experience with CEA accreditation process is desirable.
SALARY: $55,000 annually, plus benefits.
