The fellowship program provides a stipend, a close working relationship with faculty in GWS and related departments, and assistance in furthering the fellow’s development as a productive scholar. The fellow will give a public presentation on their research project and each year will teach one of the department’s regularly offered undergraduate courses.

To Apply: Submit the following materials in a single PDF file to tcb@illinois.edu: Letter of application, curriculum vitae, substantive description of the research project to be undertaken during the fellowship (2 pp.), sample of scholarly writing (20-30 pp.), and contact information for two references. Applicants should also have those two references email letters of recommendation directly to tcb@illinois.edu. For candidates who have not yet completed their degree at the time of application, one of these letters must be from the chair of the dissertation committee addressing the likelihood of completion by the starting date of the fellowship.
