Assistant Professor or Associate Professor,
Nursing
Towson University is inviting established scholars and clinicians,
and promising faculty applicants for one tenure-track, full-time,
10-month position with a direct focus on simulation in nursing
beginning August 2020. 1) Teaching - provide high quality
instruction in a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate nursing
courses, advise and mentor students as they matriculate through the
program and prepare to enter the profession; 2) Scholarship -
development/continuation of a focused area of scholarship that
includes refereed publications, professional presentations,
external funding, and involvement in scholarly projects with
faculty and students; 3) Service - active service participation at
the Department, College, University, Profession and community
levels. Position includes opportunity to serve as Director of
Simulation which includes oversight for all educational and
operational aspects of simulation in the Department of Nursing.
Research Doctorate and Master’s degree in nursing with expertise in
a respective specialty area. Evidence of sustainable nursing
scholarship agenda. ABD applicants considered, but appointment will
be at the Instructor rank and all degree requirements must be
completed by February 1, 2021. All candidates are expected to
possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and advising.
Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Maryland is required.
Preference given to candidates with substantial experience in
simulation. Demonstrated success in working with diverse
populations of students is also preferred. Salary is competitive
and commensurate with experience. Academic rank as an Assistant or
Associate Professor will be commensurate with qualification and
university promotion and tenure criteria. Review of completed
