GRADUATE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The University of South Carolina School of Law is seeking a
Graduate Program Director. The Director is responsible for all
aspects of the School of Law’s non-J.D. graduate program, including
program oversight, marketing and recruitment, admissions, student
affairs, career services, and former student relations. The
Graduate Program Director’s initial responsibilities will focus
upon implementation of a Master of Studies in Law (MSL) in Health
Systems Law and a Health Care Compliance Certificate program.
Candidates should have a Master’s degree or equivalent combination
of education and experience. Additionally, a successful applicant
should have a minimum of six years of experience in instruction,
admissions, student affairs, on-line course development, or related
area in higher education as well as experience supervising faculty
and/or staff.
This position requires a results-oriented individual with a strong
sense of vision, creativity, and initiative who also demonstrates
strong organizational and managerial skills. It requires the
ability to connect effectively with students, employers, law school
faculty and staff, alumni, and the public. The Director must have
excellent oral and written communication skills in addition to
having strong analytical skills. Additionally, they must possess
the ability to manage multiple tasks in an organized and
detail-oriented way. The Director must also have strong
inter-personal and customer-service skills and be able to work well
with various constituencies, including faculty, staff, alumni,
students, employers, and other groups. They must also be able to
recognize and implement new technologies and methods to achieve
program goals. The Director also needs to have the ability to
develop quickly a firm understanding of ABA/SACS academic and
financial programmatic assessment and accreditation standards.
