The Department of Religion at Wellesley College seeks candidates for a two-year Elisabeth Luce Moore Post-doctoral Fellowship in Biblical Studies beginning in Fall 2020. We seek a Fellow with graduate training in Hebrew Bible or New Testament, including substantial competence in Greek and/or Hebrew and demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses, preferably in both textual corpora. The appointment, however, is not restricted to traditional textual, geographical, or chronological definitions of Biblical Studies. We encourage applicants from various disciplines such as Anthropology, History, and Religion Studies and specializations including Ancient and Late Antique Mediterranean Studies, Ancient Near East Studies, Archaeology and Material Culture of the Bible, the History of Biblical Interpretation, and Modern and Contemporary Approaches to the Study of the Bible. Wellesley College is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, and we are committed to increasing the diversity of the college community and the curriculum. Candidates who believe they can contribute to that goal are encouraged to apply.
