Assistant Professor in Psychology, Specializing in Sustainability

EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY:  THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor level faculty position in psychology, to begin August 16, 2020. Responsibilities of the position include contributing to the undergraduate and graduate teaching needs of the Department of Psychology and Sustainability Program, supervising graduate master’s theses, and advising and mentoring undergraduate students. The 21-member Department of Psychology offers master’s level programs in Clinical and Experimental Psychology. Candidates must have completed all psychology Ph.D. course requirements in either cognitive or social psychology at the time of application, with the exception of completion of the dissertation defense. Other required qualifications include a demonstrated record of scholarship in at least one of the following areas as they pertain to environmental sustainability and equity: risk; judgment and decision-making; or individual/group behaviors. Candidates must also have experience in college teaching; interest in- and perceived potential for teaching undergraduate-level integrative social science courses related to environmental and sustainability issues and interest in- and perceived potential for teaching additional cross-disciplinary courses related to environmental sustainability at the undergraduate and graduate levels in support of the Department of Psychology, Sustainability Program, and Human Rights Studies Program.
