Qualifications:
Introduction to Biological Anthropology is the study of the variation and evolution of the human species and its place in nature. Molecular, Mendelian and population genetics serve as a basis to discussions of natural selection and how that affects biological and physiological adaptation. The emphasis of this course is directed towards why we see broad variations among Homo sapiens and how these variations affect humans in their life cycle, health and culture.
This course meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 - 11:35 am during the 2020 spring term.
The lab meets on Friday from 2:45 - 5:45 pm during the 2020 spring term.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Bioarchaeology, or a related discipline. Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Teaching experience in biological anthropology is preferred, and experience teaching social-cultural anthropology or archaeology is also desirable.
