Lawrence is a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and
conservatory of music located in Appleton, WI. Competitive
candidates for this appointment will be committed to excellence in
teaching and quality research. Responsibilities include teaching
two courses per term in Spanish language and linguistics (one
release available during the first year), developing courses that
complement the university’s offerings, helping to coordinate the
instruction and assessment of language and culture courses,
advising students after the second year of appointment, engaging in
departmental and university service, and occasionally teaching
Freshman Studies, our signature first-year program. Candidates are
expected to be familiar with current teaching methods and
experienced with innovative educational technology.
Applicants should apply online by submitting a cover letter, C.V.,
transcripts (copies are acceptable), separate statements on
teaching and scholarship, and a writing sample at https://lawrence.peopleadmin.com/.
All candidates are encouraged to address the ways in which they
could contribute to Lawrence’s institutional mission and commitment
to diversity in their cover letters. Applicants should also have
three letters of reference sent to search_spanish@lawrence.edu. At
least one of the letters should address teaching. To ensure full
consideration, all materials should be submitted by November
17.
