The Department of English Studies at Durham University seeks to appoint two Assistant Professors in Drama (Grade 7 or 8). The successful candidates will have research and teaching interests in any area of English-language drama from the Medieval period to the present day; we welcome applications from candidates with expertise across historical periods and critical approaches. The successful applicants will be joining a department with established strengths in theatre and drama and they will also have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic interdisciplinary research culture and a vibrant student theatre community.
The successful candidates will be able to provide evidence of outstanding research potential and/or achievement in any area of English-language drama and will be expected to develop undergraduate and postgraduate modules reflecting their research specialism, as well as to teach broadly on the Department’s curriculum as appropriate. They will also be expected to attract and supervise postgraduate research students at PhD level and will contribute to strengthening and enhancing the University’s international profile through teaching and research of global reach and significance.
