The Department of Business Administration at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The successful candidate for the position will have:

  1. A Ph.D. at the time of appointment in Innovation, Entrepreneurship or a related field such as Business Administration, International Business, or Management.
  2. At least three years of combined experience in teaching at the post-secondary level and working in relevant industry positions.
  3. Evidence of inspiring teaching skills, including the ability to teach diverse populations and students for whom English is not a native language.
  4. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

Interdisciplinary work is expected with students and faculty in other University departments, particularly IT, Engineering, and Mathematics and Natural Sciences.  The successful applicant is invited to take a leadership role in the implementation of a new innovation and entrepreneurship center at AUIS scheduled to begin operation 2019, and in undertaking national innovation policy and ecosystem initiatives such as the development of a new regional business accelerator.  Applicants who have lived in more than one country are preferred. 

The Department of Business Administration at AUIS offers an undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  Faculty with extensive experience may teach Executive MBA classes.  Our curricula are supported by state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and facilities, experienced and dedicated faculty, and solid links with the business community outside the University.  AUIS graduates are highly sought by regional and international employers.

The competitive compensation package for this position includes base salary, subsidized housing, airfare for personal leave, subsidized health insurance, professional memberships, conference attendance expenses, a generous holiday and leave policy, and other elements.

Founded in 2007 for the public benefit of all Iraq, AUIS is an independent, non-profit, coeducational, English-speaking liberal arts college in the secure cultural capital of the Kurdish region in Iraq. In 2011 AUIS moved to its new 400-acre marble-and-glass campus overlooking historic Sulaimani, a thriving economic center of more than 1 million. The campus has 50 classrooms, high-tech computer labs, an expansive library, auditoriums, dining facilities, and sports courts and fields.
