UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY
Non-Tenure Stream Lecturer
The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a faculty position at the level of Lecturer in Psychology, subject to budgetary approval. This position, which is outside of the tenure stream, would begin with the Fall Term 2019.
The load is 6 courses (or equivalent) per academic year. Duties will primarily include teaching at least two writing-intensive Research Methods Laboratory sections in both the Fall and Spring academic terms. The ability to teach other courses when needed such as Introduction to Psychology, Biopsychology, Sensation and Perception, Learning and Motivation, Developmental Psychology, Personality, and courses that have a diversity focus is also desirable.
The Department of Psychology is committed to building a culturally diverse educational environment. We are seeking faculty who can teach in these and other areas while contributing to the diversity and excellence in our programs and courses through their teaching and service. The initial appointment is for one academic year; positions are renewable subject to performance review. A PhD or equivalent, with teaching experience and exceptional instructional skills, is required. Candidates should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, relevant teaching materials, course evaluations, three letters of recommendation, and a 2-3 page statement of your contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The diversity statement should include your understanding of these issues, your record of activities to date, and your specific plans and goals for advancing equity and inclusion if hired.
Applicants can apply online at: https://facultysearch.as.pitt.edu/apply/index/MjU5. For each reference, you will have the opportunity to input a personal email address or an email address generated through Interfolio’s Online Application Delivery.
