The Department of Art and Visual Culture invites applications
for a Visiting Assistant Professor position for two years in the
study of pre-modern visual culture to begin Fall 2019. The position
carries a five-course annual teaching load. The candidate should be
able to teach courses in European art and visual culture from
300-1550, but areas of specialization may be the Islamic world,
including North Africa, or colonial Latin America. Two of the five
courses each year will be cross listed with the Program in
Classical and Medieval Studies. Two years of teaching experience
preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have a Ph.D.
in hand by August 1, 2019.
The College and the Art and Visual Culture Department are committed
