The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures of Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic university, invites applicants for a renewable term, full-time Lecturer position in Spanish. The teaching load is seven courses, distributed across three quarters (e.g. 2-3-2). Required qualifications include: Ph.D. in the field of Spanish or Applied Linguistics, at least two years of excellence in teaching as instructor of record in Spanish language at the university level, demonstrated expertise with communicatively-oriented, proficiency-oriented and Standards-based language instruction and assessment, Native or near native proficiency (oral & written production and comprehension) skills in Spanish and English, evidence of creativity in curriculum innovation and in enhancing students’ learning experience outside of the classroom, including organizing cultural events, academic presentations, etc. Application deadline: midnight PST on February 8, 2019.
