Assistant Professor of English (Creative Writing, Fiction)

Duties and Responsibilities: Teach M.A.- Ph.D.-level courses in creative writing area(s) of specialization; teach introductory and upper division courses in literature, composition, and creative writing; student advising; publish in area(s) of specialization; participate in departmental and university service; other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in English or Creative Writing from a college or university of recognized standing (ABD) will be considered, but all requirements for degree must be completed by August 2019); dissertation, thesis, and/or substantial publications in fiction; strong commitment to and evidence of excellence in teaching and service; and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially. Desirable Qualifications: experience in teaching multiple genres; event (festivals, conferences, reading series, etc.) programming experience across communities.
