About the Program
The Educational Psychology / Learning Sciences program at the University offers an MA and PhD to students interested in understanding and shaping learning in a number of settings – schools, workplaces, higher education, museums, etc.  The program provides opportunities for engaging with research and considering how the research can better influence instructional practices and student outcomes.  While the program of studies for these two degrees share a number of courses, each propels students enrolled to different goals. Students completing the master’s program are prepared to apply the findings of learning sciences research to the solution of problems in a broad range of educational contexts.  The doctoral program draws further on the theories and practices that are grounded in educational psychology and the learning sciences.  The doctoral program encourages and helps students acquire the depth of knowledge and sophistication of methodology necessary for original research contributions in those fields.
