Marquette University invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant/associate faculty position in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership in the College of Education with a specialization in Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Learning Sciences, or Learning and Assessment. We are seeking equity-centered scholars who have experience using and/or teaching quantitative methods. The successful candidate will: (1) teach and advise in our undergraduate and graduate programs, (2) conduct and publish research and contribute to the pursuit of grant funding, (3) engage in service activities within and outside the University, and (4) be part of the re-envisioning of our teacher education and other programs and our ongoing discussions on the role of social justice in education. Start date is August 19, 2019.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in one of the following areas: educational psychology, developmental psychology, child and adolescent development, learning sciences, teaching and learning, or a closely related discipline
  • Evidence of thoughtful, scholarly teaching in K-12 and/or in higher education classrooms.
  • Promising or established record of research and publication
  • Experience/academic interest in multicultural or social justice education

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multicultural/multilingual student populations in K-12 and/or higher education classrooms
  • Potential to attract external funding
  • Knowledge of and experience in using technology for learning and/or online education
  • Expertise in current issues and best practices in educational assessment
  • A concern for effective urban Catholic and public schooling
