Position Summary
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Colonial Latin American Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August of 2019. Subfield of specialization is open but we are interested in interdisciplinary approaches to Andean literatures and cultures, Afro-Latin American cultures, indigenous studies from the XVI to the XVIII century, including the transition between colonial and early national spaces, material and cultural production, and the formation of collective and individual identities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching advanced Spanish language
courses, as well as literature and cultural studies, advising
students and contributing to shared governance with service.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand, or defended dissertation by
August 1st, 2019, demonstrated scholarly achievement with proven
excellence in teaching, near/native Spanish/English, and
willingness to participate fully in a vibrant program.
