The Department of Spanish and
Portuguese at Georgetown University invites applications for
a full-time tenure track faculty position at the rank
of assistant professor in Transatlantic Early Modern
Literature and Cultural Studies. We seek a scholar with a
strong, innovative, interdisciplinary research trajectory and a
commitment to teaching excellence. The successful candidate will
join a department dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive
intellectual community.
Basic Qualifications: Ph.D. in hand or
near completion by the time of appointment. Native or near-native
proficiency in Spanish and English; Portuguese proficiency a
plus. The incumbent will teach a total of four courses per
academic year, from language courses to graduate seminars, and
serve as an advisor and mentor at the graduate and undergraduate
