MODERN LANGUAGES AND LITERATURES

The Spanish Program in the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Union College is seeking a candidate for a tenure-track position working on Latin American literature and culture with a concentration on the US-Mexican Border, Southern Cone, or Andean Studies. The candidate must demonstrate very strong language teaching skills and experience at all levels, as well as skills and interest in course and program design. The candidate is expected to contribute to the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Program and a dynamic undergraduate Liberal Arts program and to work closely with undergraduate students. We are seeking a person engaged in deep interdisciplinary research and teaching in areas such as human rights, border studies, environmental science, among others. We seek a candidate who will share the commitment to our Term Abroad programs in Spain and Argentina. Interest in developing outreach or community engagement projects and programs, and knowledge of Portuguese with willingness to direct our Brazil term abroad is a plus.

Appointment beginning in September of 2019. PhD in hand by August 2019. Candidates must have native or near native fluency in Spanish.
