Blackburn College, a private liberal-arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, Illinois, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Professor of English, with primary teaching duties in First Year Writing. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Composition/Rhetoric or English, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and at least two years of experience teaching First-Year Writing. Additional courses may be taught in literature, creative writing, and/or gender and women’s studies depending on candidate’s expertise. Experience working in peer-tutor writing centers strongly preferred, as is interest in joining a campus community that promotes diversity, respect, and inclusion. Carlinville offers a slice of small-town Americana, with excellent public schools, brick streets around the town square, many parks, and historical homes and buildings, all within an easy drive of the more urban centers of St. Louis, Missouri and Springfield, Illinois.
