Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management
This leader serves a critical role within the University leadership with responsibility for all enrollment management functions. The Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management will advise the President and senior administration on best practices for strategic enrollment needs that coalesce with the Mission and culture of Murray State University. The Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management will serve on the President’s Executive Council and will work collaboratively with each entity on the Council, other University constituencies and across organizational lines to develop a comprehensive enrollment management plan, with associated strategies, to enhance recruitment and retention for the attainment of enrollment goals for the University.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a University Strategic Enrollment Plan as
it relates to incoming students. Serve as the chief enrollment
officer for the University. Provide recommendations on strategic
enrollment planning and organizational operations with forethought
on innovative strategies with matching structures to optimize work
of the University community to recruit, retain and graduate
students in an efficient and effective manner. Work with key areas
in Finance and Administrative Services, Student Affairs, Academic
Affairs, University Advancement, Athletics and other Presidential
reporting components as appropriate. Supervise and direct, as
necessary, the Directors, staff and operations of the Offices of
Enrollment Management, Undergraduate and Transfer Admissions,
Graduate Admissions, International Admissions and Recruitment.
Manage the budget for the Office of Enrollment Management and
oversee utilization of all budgets in the enrollment management
area, directing changes as needed to maximize effectiveness.
Utilize institutional, regional and national data to analyze and
evaluate short- and long-term strategic and targeted recruitment
and admissions needs. Direct the analysis and reporting functions
of all admissions and recruitment efforts, statistics, measures and
outcomes. Review and assess processes established for attracting
and admitting all students through specific collaboration with
Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to create targeted recruiting
protocols appropriate and effective for the changing environment of
higher education. Ensure recruitment and admission objectives,
goals, budgets, policies, practices and actions produce successful
student recruitment and admission results, consistent with the
overall Mission of the University and strategic and master plans.
Synchronize enrollment growth actions with regional campuses,
academic colleges/departments, Office of Student Engagement and
Success and other units
with enrollment growth-related functions. Regularly visit community
colleges and high schools within the University’s 18-county service
region and beyond for recruiting and public relations purposes to
represent the Office of Enrollment Management and Murray State
University. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a connected field. Five years of directly relevant experience. A record of dynamic, collaborative, proactive and visionary leadership. Excellent interpersonal communication, management, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Strong professionalism in all aspects of the position. Knowledge of student marketing trends. Demonstrated ability to use creative and strategic thinking to effect change.
