The English Department at Presbyterian invites applications for a full-time appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor in Communication Studies and English for the 2018-19 academic year. The successful applicant will have an M.A. or a Ph.D. in rhetoric and communications or a related field. The Visiting Assistant Professor will supervise and instruct students in general education (Introduction to Composition, Introduction to Literature) and upper-level courses including topics in journalism, media studies, digital communication, and/or technical communication. In addition, s/he will be able to integrate technology into research and teaching practice in the classroom and in lab settings. Research that informs the ability to teach textual criticism or media analysis preferred. The assistant professor will teach a 3-4 course load.

Located in Clinton, South Carolina, PC is approximately 40 minutes from Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina, and about one hour from Columbia, South Carolina. The region offers abundant opportunity for social and recreational activities, including a thriving main street in Greenville, performing arts centers in Greenville and Spartanburg, outstanding hiking and trail biking, numerous lakes for boating, and easy access to Charlotte, North Carolina, Asheville, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia.
