The Associate Provost reports to the Provost/Vice President for Academic and Learner Services and provides the vision, leadership, and overall administration of policy, operations and management of Enrollment, Financial, and Career Services in alignment with LCCC’s commitment to student access, success and completion, and academic and administrative leadership for the Division. The Associate Provost provides strategic direction to the campus for implementing successful enrollment management processes and an inclusive model of student success that improve retention and graduation rates on campus and close persistence and achievement gaps. The Associate Provost has responsibility for ensuring an integrated student-centered, team-based approach to admissions, academic advising, student assessment, counseling, registration, financial aid, records, transfer placement, special admissions, articulation agreements, code of conduct, and advocating for students. The Associate Provost ensures that this approach provides strong customer service and contributes to a supportive and integrated student experience.

 The Associate Provost is important to the future growth and development of Lorain County Community College as a student-focused learning-centered institution that attracts, enrolls, and retains a culturally and socio-economically diverse community. This position advises and assists the Provost on routine matters and projects. The Associate Provost plans, coordinates, and directs the educational and administrative functions related to student success initiatives in collaboration with other LCCC administrators and deans; supports and promotes strategic enrollment initiatives by serving as a resource and advisor to the College’s faculty and academic administrators for the improvement of admission, articulation, transfer, counseling & advising services; provides leadership and administrative support for grants relating to student success; provides guidance in the organization, planning, and implementation of advocacy for students; and as assigned by the Provost, serves as institutional representative and advocate for the college to appropriate local, state, regional, and national agencies. Additionally, this position assumes other duties as delegated by the Provost/Vice President for Academic and Learner Services.

Required Qualifications:  Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline(s), demonstrated academic leadership; strong organizational and public speaking skills; decision making, writing and editing skills; ability to multi-task and lead a project to completion; must be able to think creatively and strategically, maintain confidentiality, and be willing to work extensively with students. Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:  Project management; marketing experience; supervisory or training experience.
